A Plastic Ocean

Although our Earth has one continuous body of saltwater, scientists and geographers have divided it into 5 different sections. While those 5 sections all have problems of their own, our biggest concern is the amount of plastic and waste that has ended up in this precious body of water. Scientists have roughly estimated that there are more than 5 trillion pieces of plastic in our ocean with 80% of it coming from land. People have been led to think that recycling and properly throwing things away will make it go away in forever. The real question is, where does that plastic go? The link down below explains the process of what really happens to the plastic you throw away.
